Loose cable
Whilst travelling to the Frimley Breakfast meet today I'm my ZT-T 180 I noticed that the pad wear message suddenly displayed on the IPK screen, so I thought Funny as the pads were renewed not so long ago, or so I thought, anyway on the way home after coming off the slip Road from the M3 I heard a loud bang from the offside rear, I honestly thought the tyre had blown out, so I stopped and checked and all was well.
Then on the was home I stopped at the services and when returning to the car I noticed a cable hanging down from the side of the rear wheel well with a bare wire at the end which was somewhat chaffed after presumably dragging on the road, now this wire looks like it could be something to do with the pad wear circuit I wrapped the bare end up in insulating tape and tied it round the little bracket attached to the spare wheel well and drove home with no further issues. Does anyone have any clues as to what this cable is for? Sent from my M2003J15SC using Tapatalk

Funnily enough it looks like the brake pad wear indicator cable. If you want to turn the alarm off just wrap the two wires in the cable together.
Good meet. |
