Directional tyres
Will be needing a new set of tyres on our Zt-t Cdt soon. ( 225/45/18 ) I would like to fit non directional ones, anybody got any comments/recomendations/experience.
I have asked a couple of tyre guys and got very vague answers. I have 4 spare wheels for the car all RH and having right hand or left hand wheels seems to me a right pain and means I need a tyre fitter to swap wheels round. Also anybody got any pointers on a good deal at the moment Information as to which tyres are non directional would also be most welcome Thanks Andy Last edited by andy; 8th March 2008 at 00:58.. |

Regarding the directional tyres, a contact the the repair trade & ex ZT owner (who now races a diesel BMW) told me that, in an emergency, it is safe to fit a wheel with directional tyres on the wrong side of the car temporarily. But you need to remember that the water clearing properties will be much worse.

Correct, no issues with fitting directional tyres the wrong way round when it's dry. In the wet they can be lethal.

Try this firm for good prices.
http://www.mytyres.co.uk/ The info for each tyre states whether it is uni or omni directional, should be able to find what you want easily. As it is just for a spare, no need to spend loads. |

Can't go wrong with conti M3's.
Just in case someone asks, their not directional tyres, but an in'ie, out'ie tyre.

Expect to pay £10.00 a corner for fitting, that's what I paid recently from My Tyres. They will deliver directly to the fitting station if you request it rather than to your home. |
