Cruise retrofit disaster......
2002 ZT-T CDTI
All wiring was in place. Fitted Cruise ECU, Master switch, and new wheel with controls. Master switch power light comes on when switch is pressed, but after that, nothing. Take car up to 40mph, press Res or set, set or resume etc, nothing. No symbol in display, and no cruise. Have I missed something? Another fuse or relay requiured? HELP. Mick |

You have'nt mentioned any connections to switches at the top of the brake and clutch pedals ??
The brake pedal switch should already be there (cos it works the brake lights) but what about the clutch ?? |

Hmmmm....
Not a lot of space up there, but I THINK there is a small microswitch to each pedal. Mick |

Hi I had same problem at first on the retro-fit CC -check clutch switch you have to put the seat right back lay on your back and grab hold of the switch and try and push it in: you should hear a click-hope that helps

Thanks for that mayor.
Going to lie on my back. It's 32 in the shade here, a trifle warmer in the car. May be some time.............. Mick |

OK
The clutch switch seems to have serated edges, and I could push it in withe the clutch operated. Releasing the cluch, however, pushes it back, although not, I think, as far back as it was. Do I go and try again, or any more suggestions first? Mick |

Tried again, still the same.
Not so sure the "switch" on the clutch pedal is a switch though. Can't discern any movement anywhere when trying to operate it with a finger, although there are wires going to the back of it. Unless it's stuck in the operated position and won't budge. Mick |

Update........
Got the "switch" out. Definitely no movement, but must be a switch else why the wires? Big problem though. It may be possible to disconnect the plug from the switch (with great difficulty), but, if I can repair the switch or obtain a new one, there is no way I can re-connect it, because it's a 2-handed job, and there is no way you can get two hands and arms up there. It looks like a dash out job? Anyone know if this is the case? Mick |
