Default Fuel leak and a half - fuel filter housing

Was driving home tonight when I started getting a strong smell of diesel in the car.

Pulled off the road into a layby, opened the bonnet and turned the ignition to position 2.

Cue a spray of diesel 6 feet in the air from the output side of the fuel filter housing.

It looks like the o-ring in the outlet side has died somehow, and is allowing a pressurised splurt of fuel to push past the click-in fitting for the fuel pipe.

I'm going somewhat frantically scrapyard hunting tomorrow in the hopes that one of the local ones has either a CDT 75 or a TD4 Freelander which I believe uses the same fuel filter housing, but I was wondering - does anybody know if the o-ring itself is a replaceable part, and would it be worth my while doing so?

Got the part at a localish scrappie in the end - not many 75s or freelanders in, and most of the diesel ones I found had already had this particular part removed - is this becoming a more common issue with our vehicles?

Hi Mario.
The members above are talking about outlet fuel hose connector on fuel sensor on top of the fuel filter.

Here is a pic of the inlet one.

Outlet fuel connector which the OP is referring to, the O-ring seems to have failed.

Hope this helps with your question as to what part is being referred to Arctic
