reference clocking I think any MGR mechanic who believes it is very difficult and not widespread is deluding himself yes it requires specialist software but I'm afraid it is not that difficult to achieve most 'mileage correction' specialists can do it so basically buyer beware!

reference workshop manual I would recommend the reprint of the official manual over the Haynes it's a lot more expensive but it is much clearer has lots and lots of technical information and still costs less than one hours typical garage labour. Maybe it's just me but I find the Haynes difficult to comprehend and with poor quality photos Haynes also have the usual bad habit of not fully covering all versions for instance in the fuel pump removal on a diesel they refer to the 1.8 section but a diesel pump is quite different

looking good so far though I would not have the patience to write it!!

Good work I have found one bit that I think needs a correction on the head gasket issue.

It should be noted that the 75/ZT V6 engines KV6 almost never have a head gasket failure, and it is extremely unlikely to occur unless servicing has been terrible. Be wary of mechanics claiming the V6 needs head gasket work as 90% of the time, they wont know what they are talking about. The KV6 can have a failure however it boils down to poor maintance not a mechanicial fault, but like anything mechanicial it can still fault.

Should read fail.

further to this it is probably mentioning why the KV6 is OK, when the KV6 engine was originally introduced in the Rover 825 MGR had many issues with head gasket failure and often they replaced whole engines under warranty. For this reason, unlike the 4 cylinder variants, the engine was comprehensively re-engineered before use in the 75 and the HGF issue became a thing of the past
