Highline CD changer to symphony head unit?
I have recently bought a 75 to replace my zt. It has a symphony head unit but the previous owner told me the CD changer became faulty and was removed. I would like to replace it and have found one locally that was fitted to a highline head unit. Are these compatible? I have removed my glove box to see if the lead is still there and have found a 10 or 12 pin rectangular connector which I assume is it. I don't want to buy the changer if it won't work with the head unit.

I think this is what you want
https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=185871 It is the same as I have in my 2002 75 with Harmony CD changer (in glove box). The connector is pictured. I had a crazy idea of using an Arduino or Raspberry Pi which would plug into the connector and pretend to be a CD changer, but really connect to a USB stick, SD card or phone etc. Looks like such things already exist as products but I have not worked out which item will work in the car! One day... |

Certainly the plug looks the same as the one he is selling. The one I am looking to buy is on eBay complete with glove box. He has taken a few more pictures for me including the plug. Only thing concerning me a little is there also appears to be a 2 pin connector with his also.

I have bought the changer from Ebay and it is the right one.
Annoyingly, the plug which I took to be the lead isn't correct, so I have now put a 'wanted' in for the correct one. Looks like there has been a bit of butchery in the past behind the stereo. Pity, as I was hoping to be listening to my CDs by now! Curious as to what the plug is in the glovebox area if anyone knows? Last edited by Richard1973; 11th October 2019 at 12:14.. |
