Funny enough I was thinking that myself.

Or unless he's bought hoping too get lucky or he doesn't what he's got.
He likes cars, I think this his first classic car he's always bought modern stuff.

I reckon he's trying too get lucky but lordy will shatter his dreams and hoping I can get this dirt cheap.

If not it can stay right there where it is.

Is that the Hillman that looks a bit like the MK2 Cortina, my grandfather owned one from new. I remember fitting a car stereo in it for him, I don't think it actually had one.

Here you go Wes

Not the car I'm looking but the best example I could find.

That’s a GLS or GT. Twin headlights instead or rectangular ones. Good colour too!

Yep! so looks like a Cortina MK2.

I remember replacing the indicator relay on my grandfathers, I was about 14 at the time and his local garage was going to charge him a small fortune. Move over grandad I said, I'll sort it for you, job was done in 10mins.

I miss the old fella, we always talked cars, we would be forever polishing his Hillman. I'm sure we polished it so much that the paint was actually wearing thin in places, but it sure did shine.

Yeah Kind of then again it does remind me of a Morris Marina a bit.

You lucky s.o.d your generation had all the fun working on these iconic cars.
Reminds of my days when I was helping my dad with his Range Rover classic.

Sounds you were really close too your grand father just wish I met mine well on my dad's side not my mum's side mum's father was a brute would have gladly punched him for putting my grand mother and my mum through hell.

My dad's father on the other end the one person in my life I would have loved too have met.

Here you go Dave, a 1969 Cortina MK2.

My father had a MK2 Cortina in white at the time, I learnt to drive in it at age 10, couldn't do that now of course.

I thought that the price must be a mis-type for £500! In mint condition and low mileage, they are worth no more than £3k. Just browse Classic cars on eBay to see what is available for much less.
