Cool Still waiting for Banana...........................

........................................ to come home. I was supposed to be collecting her last Friday but the garage have delayed the release as they had encountered a problem, no idea why. No explanation given. Hoping to hear some news today.
Need her home now.

Must be frustrating Bob, but at least they seem to be doing a thorough job, and not just rushing her out the door. She'll no doubt be home soon and I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile.

With a job as big as this, there'll always be something last-minute to slow matters down. But just like the original 75 launch back in '99, it's much better to delay so that everything is correct, than to rush it and spoil things

Cool Been on the...........

.................................. phone to them this morning. Banana is in the final stages of her mega polish. She should be ready for collection on Wednesday. Apparently the delay was caused by one of the team being taken ill at work. They have recovered and now back at work, so that’s good news.

Been following this thread from the start and really looking forward to seeing the pics and also Bob's thoughts on the job they will have done. I suppose it's like anything, the longer you can reflect on it, the more nit picking you do.

Would Bob be willing to give us a ball park figure on the cost involved in getting his car finished to this high standard? I'm sure there are others like me watching this with interest and thinking "I wonder if I could afford to do the same?".

Cool

Extremely expensive is the re-spray. i’m not prepared to reveal the cost on the open forum. But to give you an idea, 5 years ago I was quoted £7,000 by a local spray shop in Essex. Prior to my move to Cornwall a spray shop in Kent quoted me £5,000 and another spray shop in Lincolnshire quoted me £3,000. But these were spray shop quotes not restoration shop quotes.

Banana has been in the workshop since March 4th.

Once I get the final bill I’ll pm you, or anyone else that wants to know, with the final cost.

So did you have any restoration work carried out to Banana then Bob?

I would be interested to see if there was, to see the pictures of what was actually done.

In any event I'm looking forward to seeing the end result in the flesh

Yes by a company in Essex. A M Restorations were not impressed by their work.
