Default Lighting Strike Damage

I was wondering if any other members have been affected by the latest lighting strike, an house four down from me had its roof blown off, damaged all the wiring in the house, now it as been inspected they have found asbestos in the roof area and the poor lady as to move out, due to the find & the roof being unsafe.
It also blew our sky router/modem, travelled through the ethernet wire into my PC tower and damaged the mother board that is now with our Nano wizz kid Jamie whom is taking a look at it for me and hopefully can repair or add a new mother board BIG Thanks & shout out to Jamie.

New sky box arrived today, plugged in chap from open reach as just left so we now have a land line & internet again so can not fault Sky on their call out service.

It seems that quite a few in our street had trouble one couple a few doors down had their TV blow up as it struck the antenna.

Weather warning is for another storm tonight so all the appliances will be unplugged even though the saying lighting never strikes twice in one place not taking any chances.

Hopefully other members were ok all the best Arctic.

Cool

Wow! Lucky no one was hurt. Must be a pain having to move out.
We had the storm but as far as I’m aware no damage around here.

She the lady is still moving out today, she as also realised she does not have any house/home insurance to cover the damage poured down here last night and the hole in the roof was not covered up so I suspect even more damage from the rain going through the loft and the bed room which the ceiling had come down from debris from the strike.

what a shame she was saying as above at least no one got hurt.

Lucky escape there Steve.

In 1977 a horse a 1/4 mile away from my dads house we were living in was struck in th shoulder and exited through its feet (it didn't survive) Th current then followed a red rock fault to my dads house. Comically un soldered th tele fone internals. Melted th live to th earth (old consumer unit so no earth trip) th meter was spinning at a million miles a hr and I was stuck to th fridge (fridge body now live...!!!) for what seemed like a age.... Electrocution is not nice.... As others who have experienced it will latter surly say....
