Removed the nearside wing and arch liner and the duly cleaned it all, then spray painted the inner wing as Mg rover had to save money for the phoenix four's pension fund, cleaned up and painted the front subframe rust patches.
Then moved onto to removing the front suspension unit as the spring is broken, I'd been liberally spraying it with plusgas for a couple of weeks but to no avail, so I went and bought a blow torch, a few minutes later it was moving with a pry bar and then it eventually freed off enough to use my socket wrench. I'm getting there |

Drove across London to Penge in the south to view a car. Wasted journey but quite an exhilarating drive - almost managed to hit 25 mph at one point. Lots of angry drivers about but I was a dead cool dude throughout. Thank god for the air con

Heat
Me and the car nearly melted on our trip back from London.
Outside temp was 38 near Heathrow All 4 windows down but just warm air circulating Not good when you have no air con and no working fan.... It's on my list but other things keep popping up. Even sitting in traffic on the lovely m25 the car performed brilliantly and didn't miss a beat Stan

Pulled out a set of stinking soaking wet seats, followed by the stinking soaking wet carpet.
Normal? not in this case the car had been in the custody of a garage for the purposes of replacing an EWS, in the meantime the garage compound was flooded, their customers car was up to it's seats in water. So after spending just short of £1500 for the repair, plus the "removal of the carpets to clean" they wanted a further £600 to replace the SRS DCU and side impact sensors. My opinion having started on the job today is simple, I suspect the garage's wet vac has indigestion I've spent a cursory half a hour with a bucket of water and a damp cloth, mopping out the silt and sludge from the floorpan. All this after a trip to the dentist this morning All in all not a good day Brian |

Just sorn my rover will either sell it or give it a good going over new brake pipes, shockers and a good under seal. I cannot believe the lack of corrosion underneath!

When one goes, they all start to follow. I remember having a tooth pulled, and then digging-out a 4ft high, 150ft long hedgerow and erecting a 6ft fence using concrete posts... never again. |

Stainless exhaust is on. Anyone know why there is a hanger on it that isn't used? It was on the standard one that came off too - as if something should fit to the rear subframe, but my car has nothing? Looks and sounds great! Aircon next, hopefully. if he turns up tomorrow again...
