75s and ZTs don't use reluctor rings but pick up a signal from the wheel bearing. Looks like your problem lies elsewhere.

I imagine the OP has purchased an aftermarket bearing which probably does have a separate ABS ring. The original SNR bearings had the ring pressed in, but even SNR boxed bearings contain FAG bearings now.

Annoyingly I don't believe the rings are available separately as I needed them too. Sorry, you'll probably need to buy another complete bearing.

Hmmm, I've never seen a 75 or ZT bearing that has a removable reluctor ring??? I believe the signal is obtained through a magnetic pick-up in the bearing.
If anyone knows better, please correct me.

I recently replaced my rear bearing (initially thought the ABS sensor was at fault) and decided to go for the easy option and replace the whole hub.

Found this proper FAG unit with next day delivery. recommended.

The "reluctor" ring is a series of magnets set into the oil seal on the inner flange face.

What the OP has fitted is a cheap bearing with a pressed steel ring that secures something or other, it will have a machined inner face and what have you, blah blah blah blah and it goes on.

Like this rubbish

The answer is to buy another bearing, preferably a drop forged one, and fling the cheap one in the bin as it's now knacked. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Rover....c100005.m1851

Take your pick, you can buy a genuine bearing HERE

Brian

If only Bri - he fitted the bearing and threw the steel ring in the bin.

Two valuable lessons hopefully learnt though: never throw anything away until you have tested the car and it works as it should, and as you say, buy decent spares when you can 'cos they save you time and money in the long run.

Hi Brian.

The bearings that Rimmer Bros, X-Part, and even SNR are now supplying are no longer the drop forged original. They are FAG bearings with the separate reluctor ring.
