Color- och chassinumber?
Good morning,
Dropped by a car part dealer this morning to get some color for a chip on the bonnet of my 2002 Rover 75 2.5 V6. The color of the car is called White Gold Metallic. I gave my adversary the car's chassi number, but nothing came up in her system. "You need to give me the color number", she said. "However, you've been able to produce the right color for previous Rovers of mine, so what's different now"? She then said "You need to go to a Rover dealer". I replied "thank you very much" and went for the door, as she drew a sigh of relief. Anyone know what she was going on about? I've never heard the expression "color number" in this context. Pherhaps I can order the right color from the UK? As always, I'm very grateful for some advice on this matter. Yours sincerely, Erik |

Hi Eric. I think white gold came in two choices; either GMK or GMN.

Check the chassis plate inside the door. You're looking for a three letter code, I believe mine is "JFM"

There is a plate when you open the door which will tell you the colour code, usually 3 letters. I'm sure someone will be able to tell you the code from the colour you have described.
