Trims for wheel arches
I see it is possible to buy steel trims stainless or chromium? for wheel arches. Has anyone any experience of fitting these and are they're any pictures around to show finished result? I have a black face lift model with minimum brightwork so I thought the trims might look attractive.

A friend of mine just fitted some to his S type jaguar.
He said, it was to hide rust bubbles that were appearing on his wheel arches. I told him that was like brushing it under the carpet.

I was just wondering, would it be a good idea to put some kind of grease on the inside of the trim and on the part of the arch covered, in order to stave off any rust problems?
If so, which grease would be best?

The problem is that the arches rust from the inside out, so putting anything on the outside wont help. i have just finished painting a replacemnt driver's side wing due to the original rusting through. the other side is solid!! (I have also painted the inside with couple layers of hammerite just to help keep future rot away)
