He should have been sacked after his contempt for the LD rules and those who abided by them. Bad show for Boris that he is not made of the right stuff to have dealt with him appropriately at the time.

Its a shame his Dad didnt live in France, he could have gone over and back in a dingy and the press would have been silent.

He was not the only one to flout the rules

Several others did, but they have seemed to slip under the radar

Nothing like a broom that sweeps clean. He's not the only one being culled. His pal with similar delusions of grandeur has gone as well. Lee Cain has walked, just as dismissive of established practices and how to influence without trace.

Another aspect about to surface are the vague allegations against Carrie Symonds. It was the two who have gone who were 'briefing' against her, not the other way round, in an effort to isolate the PM from her and her influence.

The picture in the papers of Cummings coming out of No. 10, and circulating around the world, carrying an old cardboard box and dressed in dirty trainers, dirty baggy pants, creased well worn t-shirt and scruffy haphazard top coat, is a wonderful advertisement to other nations of what is now tolerated as top-level office attire. That attitude is disgraceful and he does it as some sort of defiance. What a plonker. Well rid.

Default And . . . two Guardian jokes

From today's Letters page:

"Just before the consequences of Brexit hit, Dominic Cummings jumps ship. The rat."

"Maybe Boris Johnson was actually telling the truth when he said that the virus would be gone by Christmas."

He wore a lovely suit for the occasion I see! I thought that he would slip quietly out of the back door but seeking media attention as always! Who's next?
