I wouldn't be overly concerned about the bottle of coolant in the boot, I think all 1.8 and 1.8T owners end up a little paranoid, I used to carry one as well.

Another thing I have noticed is the heater isn't getting very warm, even set to "HI". I have got a very wet pollen filter tho after my clearout.
Done the diagnostic and reading engine temp of 95 today after a drive. |

95 degrees is fine.
Replace the pollen filter, they tend to get a bit whiffy after drying out. The heater matrix can silt up, there is a "How to" for removal, cleaning etc. |

Clutch
Also the clutch is a nightmare (really hard work). Done some reading but it seems that a new one is the only fix?
