Default Fred's discussion board

Welcome to the Fred discussion board.

If you want any help or have any questions about Fred then please post them here.

If you want to know where Fred has been you can check out Google Map here and remember if you have Google Earth installed you can click on the KML link at the top of the Google map page to take a guided tour.

If you have Fred and need help in locating a member to pass him on to then this is the place to ask to get some help from the Mod's or other members.

If you see Fred is in your area then post here to let Fred know where you are and you're available to take Fred over.

How famous does famous have to be GG?

Are we talking really, really famous (i.e. world famous) - or just very well-known?

I have a couple of places in mind for Fred to visit. When might he have a date in his diary?

PS. How does he get from member A to member B? Does he go by post or does he have a special means of transport?

To Valuable for Post and I wouldn't think he would like the Rough Handling of the Post Office,
and its very dark and lack of air in those Packages.
I think it must be a Meet between Members or a Halfway changeover.
By the way any chance of a tracker with him so we can trace his travels across Land & Sea?
Sorry getting carried away now.........

Agree he's too valuable to post but how does he get across the Channel (or North Sea)?

Fred is only to be passed hand to hand, post will be considered if the member holding Fred is really stuck but they must talk to us first to help them find a local member.
The Famous landmark only really needs to be well know in the town your in like local park, statue, football club or just a local landmark just something a bet different than siting on your car in front of your house

I think this must be one of Fred's ancestors - Geoffrey the Flying Bear (named after Geoffrey de Havilland).

Geoffrey was a highly experienced airbear and actually flew or rode in many historic aircraft and vehicles, including:

P-51 Mustang
P-47 Thunderbolt
Supermarine Spitfire
Messerschmitt Bf 109G
Avro Lancaster
De Havilland Devon
De Havilland Dragon Rapide biplane 'airliner'
North American Harvard
Beech 18
Josef Stalin II main battle tank
Iraqi self-propelled gun
My car
Other peoples' cars

Sadly Geoffrey is no longer with us. He baled out of a Beech 18 at 300 feet over Duxford and his home-made parachute failed to open. My fault - I made the parachute (and made him jump). Anyway, here are some archive pics of the once-legendary Geoffrey.

Geoffrey checks the barrel on Iraqi Self-Propelled Gun

Geoffrey in Pilot's seat of Beech 18

Geoffrey doing pre-flight engine checks on a Harvard
(note his SAS and pilot's wings badges)

Geoffrey in a Messerschmitt Bf109 - you can't see him but he's in there
