Default Rear top sidelights not working!

Help, my rear top sidelights are not working on both sides, when I remove the middle sidelight bulbs which work the top bulbs turn on after a moment or two. I have checked the earths in the boot and replaced with serrated washers but still no luck!

Also I have LED number plate lights, would these affect this problem in some strange way?

Thanks in advance!

The top bulbs are the brakelights, the middle one's are lights, when a tail light blows, the brakelight above takes its place, it's a safety feature, so, I would check all your bulbs, if your brakelights aren't working, perhaps it's the fuse or the switch.

Ah cheers, seem obvious now but a nice surprise. So I still have a bulb out warning light, is this due to the low current draw from my led number plate lights?

Could be if your leds are non canbus, you need canbus friendly led bulbs
