Default concorde

At Brooklands museum, you can go and look around concorde and they show you a video of the history of the plane. Quite interesting...

Thanks for sharing that Bill,
It seems that the world has gone backwards now Concorde is no longer flying.
Wonderful to watch and must have been a great experience for those lucky enough to have flown on her

In 1969, man walked on the moon and Concorde flew Supersonic for the 1st time!

43 years later, we no longer have a manned vehicle that can leave the Earth's orbit, or have a commercial airliner that can fly Supersonic!

I will NEVER forgive Willie Walsh of BA, for scrapping these aircraft rather than them fly in Virgin colours and for that reason, will NEVER fly with them!

I do think part of the problem also lay in Airbus not renewing the service contracts on them as well!
Either way, what a shame and the world is a sadder place without Concorde

I agree with you Mark I think Concorde would still be flying today if Richard Branson had got hold of them

I was a member of the Flight Test Department on the Concorde Project.
Fortunate enough to have had over 100 flights on the development aircraft, 002 G-BSST; 01 G-AXDN and 202 G.BBDG, also 1 flight on 02 F-WTSA.
All these were Test flights and when we we were "pushing the envelope".
On one flight from Fairford to Casablanca we saw a 747 trailing con-trails over the Bay of Biscay, so it was probably out of Orly and at some 30,000', we passed over it at 62,300'.
On a Bahrain Test Flight out of Bahrain in Aug. 1974 we got to Mach 2.23 down the Persian Gulf...
Happy days, etched on the memory...

I'm one of those strange people that love aircraft but hate getting in them! But the Concorde I would still gladly get on! - No Problem......
