The Indians prevented overflying at supersonic speeds for the Bahrain to Singapore section of the proposed London - Sydney route - cos - 'it would upset the sacred cattle', and the Americans claimed that the supersonic over-pressures would cause their women folk to abort... having conveniently forgotten that their military had been flying all over the States at Mach 1+ for over 20 years...
