Head sealant 29
Special camshaft carrier sealant LVV000108EVA Re-seat valves etc. 48 Recut exhaust valve seats and reface valves, a paraffin test will have revealed more than one or two leaking valves misc. engine prep etc. just under 100 Cleaning all of the gunk out of the block and cylinder head. All in all not unreasonable, and it would appear the job has been carried out in a conscientious manner. I would charge circa £450 to carry out a top end overhaul on a K series, and the work if carried out by the garage to the standards I set myself, it will certainly last Brian |

What you've saved in labour costs is more than made up for in parts prices though Strangely enough the part number for the air cleaner, relates to the pollen filter Brian Last edited by marinabrian; 11th July 2018 at 16:44.. |

Ref. cost of parts... Whilst parts are certainly cheaper in the UK than in Portugal, I would have had to identify every item required and then get them out here via post/courier etc. All in all, I felt that it was better, here, to get the garage to source everything except the DMGRS Ultimate Kit, which incidently was not known to the garage, bear in mind also that the 75/ZT 1.8 was not sold in this country and is indeed a rare beast, lots of various diesel engined models, but petrol ones, not so! |
