First time I went to the Philippines and we stayed with Ging's family breakfast tended to be what was left over from the previous night's dinner. Either than or rice, fried eggs and strange (but tasty) hot dogs with cheese running down the middle of them.

I am nervous about eating food I have not cooked. Even in the food industry U.K, there is laziness or ignorance about washing hands after using the toilet, then preparing food and in some instances one hand is used to wipe the bottom instead of using toilet paper. http://www.handinspection.co.uk/page.asp?id=food1

When I spoke to a waiter about it on holiday in Tangiers, he said no one told him to wash his hands. I tried to explain about washing hands, but his case, I think it was ignorance and when I asked for a clean fork, he took one from another customers plate, wiped it on a tea towel he was wearing on his arm and then handed it to me smiling. I gave up and walked out.

I prefer cooking stuff myself, least you control what's in it. Trouble is Ging's away a lot of the time and when I cook for myself I end up eating the same thing for two or three days. Dinner last night was something I picked up in Morrison's the other day, that won't figure in the shopping again. Only go to Morrison's now and then because its the only place I know I'll get the dry puppy food for Maya. Local Co-op doesn't keep it, nearest Tesco doesn't always have it, Morrison's is next in line. The sausage rolls I think will go out for the birds.

Morning all from sunny Saltash.
I'll be Gardening today. Need to finish off trimming the hedge off at the end of the garden.

Decided to brave the climb up the 111 spiral stair case to the top
(must have been mad on top of a big meal)

G'day all !
What a miserable morning - cold, grey, cloudy - nowhere near proper daylight yet.
I'm getting my wife back tonight - my sister is adamant she can cope being left on her own at night, so we're experimenting with doing so. Either Angela or I will then spend every other day with her, to give her some mental and physical support. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she specifically said she didn't want to know what the prognosis was - so we don't know whether we are talking months or years.

Sorry to hear that Rod, the uncertainty has got to be difficult to deal with.

Laptop is back up and running, going to treat it to a RAM boost, currently 2gb (2 x 1gb), ordered 2 x 2gb for under fourteen quid!
