Definitely a few degrees cooler this morning - perilously close to a frost when I stuck my nose out of the door about 6.45am.
That was the last school run for a couple of weeks - my son is now on a mixture of 2 'til 10 and night shifts, so I'm not needed until his next week of 6 'til 2 shifts
Now off to do the shopping - joy of joys

Good morning Rod, I wonder if is that time of the year to put a jumper on. What a change in the weather today. This morning I had the gas annual summary arrive and I see I managed to be frugal since last years summary. I have not had to put heating on yet, what about yourself? I was chatting to a ZT driver from Scarborough in a car park in London a few days ago and he reckoned Yorkies are notorious for being exceptionally frugal .....ha!

G'day Phil
Frugal, me? - NO!
Tight? - yes, as a fish's bum
We pay a combined gas & electric figure of £70.12 per month. During the Winter, that's not really enough, so we tend to owe the supplier some £££s in the Spring, but that is compensated for by much lower consumption during the late Spring and Summer - the nett result is that we end up about £5 in credit at the end of the year.
I have warned Angela that, in view of increasing rates for both gas & electric, that she will have to wait until the 1st December this year before she can have the heating on. I did offer her a fiver to buy what looked like a really warm fleece jacket in the British Heart Foundation charity shop - now how thoughtful is that

Smooth operator Steve

Afternoon all, It's been a beautiful day today, It's still blue skies & sunny although there's not much warmth in the sun.

Yum! I bought a bottle of peanut Satay sauce at Aldi to try & it's proper tasty Goes great with chicken. It's like peanut butter in spiced coconut milk, very Morish

Look at these two beggers! I'd just brought some washing in off the line & went to make a cuppa, by the time I'd made a cup of tea these two were in the clean laundry basket.

Cool

Morning all from dark Newquay, it's 05.43 and we are getting ready to rock n roll to Penzance to catch the ferry to the Isles of Scilly.

There is a good offer on, if you live in Cornwall, and can prove it, then the fare is just £25 return. Otherwise it is £45 return. Journey takes about two and a half hours.
But if you want to go by helicopter, only a 20 minute trip, then the fare is £253 return per person.
