Two poached eggs on a doorstop slice of toasted tiger bread is hard to beat.

Busy day today, got to take my sister to a place where no buses run regarding her new job (she doesn't drive) then take my older brother into Leigh hospital for a minor surgery then pick him up later this afternoon and I've got to take Mam to her hospital appointment in Bolton at dinner time.

The job will be local in town once she's been to this training office.

Due to nobody else even bothering to respond to my enquiry I've left the engraving job with the local guy. He'll take it to who ever actually does the engraving for him tomorrow and let me know a price.

Evening all, turned out a lovely sunny afternoon here after the murky morning.
All my taxi/appointments duties done
I got away without using the tumble drier as the nice breezy afternoon dried the laundry out always a result when I can get away without using that thing.

Deep filled steak n ale puff pastry pie, mash & mushy peas for tea I would have taken a pic of the huge slice of steak pie I had on my plate but I scoffed so moreish.

Funny you should mention a dearth of engravers in your neck o the woods Steve, our local Trophy/engraving shop has upped sticks and gone

Pigeon & whippet fanciers aren't happy at all as well as the dart clubs as to where the annual trophy winners are going to get them engraved.

I sent detailed illustrations of what I wanted done to several engravers in Edinburgh last week and not one has replied

Got a wok of Shanghai braised pork on the cooker. Pork belly strips cut into about 1/2" pieces, slow cooked (about an hour) in a sauce of light and dark soy and sweet sherry then reduce the sauce til its thick and sticky

Default Season of mists and mellow fruitfullness ....

Just spotted a colourful sight from the back bedroom window - no sun on the pine forest in the background, but bright illumination of Autumn's shades in the foreground.

Went to Norwich and Acle today and had bright warm sunshine all day.....Perhaps I have broken the voodoo

Roll on Friday.
Will be slipping our moorings at Acle at around 06.30am to get to Great Yarmouth around 08.30 and cross Breydon at low water and then on to Brundall on the Southern Broads. Cruising time of around five hours
This will be the last trip on 'Riverlight' and she has been a great boat.
Time to start a new adventure on our new boat 'Lady Emma' though and we will be making the return journey early doors Saturday.
Friday I will have my friend Chris as crew and Saturday my Dad will be crewing.

Should any of you guys want to come and say hello Dad and I will be at Acle till Sunday afternoon.

Hopefully the weekend afterwards Ros will be making the trip up as well
