Thanks Nick the roast butternut squash was really nice, must do more of that tasty vegetable, I cubed it in a roasting dish with a few garlic cloves.olive oil, paprika and sea salt & black pepper Yum. That wind is still strong here, the missus has the central heating on again she's got the couch pulled up to the gas fire & the central heating on too It's not even frosty or icy outside. telling her to put a thick jumper on didn't cut it.

Morning all from very dark Saltash. As far as I can tell it's dry outside.
Up early to get Redfive uncovered and down to the garage for her clutch and top mounts to be replaced.

G'day gents - we've got unbroken blue skies and wall to wall sunshine up 'ere in God's own country, and it's pleasantly mild.
I had a miserable day yesterday - woke up with chronic back pain/spasms, and then spent all day being incredibly careful how I bent and twisted. It's not too bad today, so hopefully it was a one-off. I am beginning to suspect that my left hip is coming towards the end of its useful life, so that may be part of the problem.

There's something in this house that eats sticking plasters! Because I'm on blood thinning stuff I always have plasters in the house, just nicked my finger, can I find a plaster? Can I hell, they've disappeared. Got an elegant bit of kitchen roll held on with masking tape til it dries up.

Just spent most of the afternoon in Eye Outpatients Casualty at the local hospital. My mate (a farmer) has been having problems for about 10 days with his left eye swelling up, so he called in the opticians whilst at the mart, to ask of they could give him some eye drops. The optician had a quick look - and said "oh my gawd - you've got a lump of metal embedded inside your eyelid, which is scratching your eye every time you blink - get to A&E - QUICK!"
As he was warned not to drive, i stepped into the breech and took him. Three hours later, they'd removed the iron bit and sent him home. The hospital's parting shot was "when the anaesthetic eye drops wear off - it will HURT. Suggest you have some Paracetamol handy - or perhaps a decent malt (to drink, not to bathe the eye with!!)"
