The option is false, the employer (thinks) they know what he will do. It's called Hobson's Choice and unacceptable. Therefore, dismissal by default.

If he had taken the matter to a tribunal, ha ha, he would have lost the case. That's dismissal in any language. The culprits here are Beresford and his co-presenter for taking issue with him, knowing what might follow.

His popularity among insiders is dismal, but that is the fault of the employer for knowingly putting cat amongst pigeons. Conflicting opinion is bread, butter, and commercials, to them.

The point he made about Letters Patent was contrary to my earlier belief. I thought it was George 5 that issued the last Letters Patent concerning hereditary titles. Grateful for the correction.
