Are you charged separately for the garden refuse bin to be emptied? We are here but I have not signed up for the service so don't use the brown bin supplied.
Our bill came this week, band A property 1400 quid a year
We got the garden bin emptied free at first, then they decided to start charging £20 a year for the privilege so we didn’t bother subscribing to that. Then it disappeared all of a sudden and the neighbour said the council came and took it back. I believe the price has increased now to £30 a year.
The council in Newcastle don’t make it easy to dispose of waste, after the first lockdown ended they went to a number plate system, odd number date for odd number registration and vice versa for even numbers. They stopped vans and trailers using the household skip sites even if you are a permit holder, this means I can’t use the van to take dirty stuff to the tip I have to put a tarpaulin in the boot of the car to take dirty stuff, and they wonder why there is so much fly tipping.

Council tax is frozen up here, no additional charge for the brown bin but it became a monthly collection during lockdown. Suspect it'll remain that.

Just back from a nice (chilly) Walk by the riverside, Meg wasn’t keen on the ‘white swimming pigeon’ it hissed, she barked, and that carried on for a while...

Suzy once jumped off a low jetty into Windermere trying to catch a duck! Thankfully she was on the lead.

Post incident!

Cool

Massive storm down here with horizontal rain and gale force winds.

Had a nice piece of steak for dinner.

Just having a wee malt to round off the evening.

Evening all, We've got similar Bob It's hammering it down here but no strong winds though.

No joy on the pigeon front, Just moved the cat box & sealed the hole up for the night, I haven't heard it moving or flapping it's wings since this morning My eyes & nose are smarting with the soot

I'm catching up on some subscribed youtube vids & having a cold bottle of Henry's Cider
