annoying rattle/ticking noise from door while driving on highway

When driving at highway speeds, there's an annoying ticking noise coming from (maybe?) the inside of the door panel, extremely annoying and it usually starts from 70 mph and gets a bit louder when going faster.

The door panels are tight. pushing against them or anywhere else on the dash or wood trim doesn't really make a difference.

a few months back the same type of noise was coming from the passenger side, a sort of metal ticking sound coming from inside the door. However, I had found out that the noise was coming from the 2 screws at the bottom front mud flaps? (don't know the exact term), where the wheel arch liner is. When I removed those 2 screws, the noise stopped. the 2 metal screws were loose and ticking against the frame of the car where the door is. So I tried the same on the driver side but no luck.

Problems like these are usually very annoying to find out where they're coming from but does anyone have any idea? It's driving me crazy

The pop up buttons for the door lock are known to rattle. A bit of heat shrink over the top, between the button and the trim, cured my Mk 2.

I get an annoying creaking from inside the drivers door panel----but only in the winter.--
