I believe the 3 litre had a 7 bearing crank, the Westminster 5. I did test drive one back in the day, but it did not shift like the Westie. Sadly less than 10,000 were sold, and very few survive. I like their looks, but prefer the Farinas.

Somebody's got a bargain. Original Crown wheels and Atlantic Blue ... are very evocative of the era.

That engine certainly needed some TLC.

The owner thought--shine the outside and ignore the bit under the bonnet.---

Some people don't worry about the aesthetics of an engine, just that it's performing well. Although l agree that a clean engine indicates a conscientious owner at point of sale.

But------------how on earth did it get that bad.--

You could rub your hand against my engine and you'd hardly know you'd done it. And I've never cleaned it. Looks like that guy used to drive around a quarry or perhaps worked there.--
