A couple of years ago I was looking for a mobile refill chappy. They tended to charge between £10 to £15 and check for leaks at the same time. But for this money they don't want to travel very far (fuel costs).
Of course the price goes up if parts need replacing.

My local guy charges £75 for a recharge but that includes testing the system for leaks. If he spends more than an hour he charges on top. He came over on a Saturday to help me with a friends Merc with a leak, he was with me about 2 hours and charged me £125 cash.

There is a local garage that have a sign out side saying they charge £50 but there is VAT on top of that and they just put the gas in.

No. And you'll find this will give you a good idea of current cost which is what you asked for.---

Why not pick up the phone and ask Al?

Why not ask on the forum?
Is that not what all this is about?

Not much use to Ardvark in the UK.

Because prices and services will vary from one specialist to another. There will be areas of the country which are more expensive than others. The forum is excellent for debating the choice between "fast fit" chains, main dealers, independent garages and self employed mobile specialists, but when it comes to price, that's a very personal thing and only you can decide whether the service being offered is what you want for the price quoted.

Not much use to Ardvark in the UK.
He asked for an IDEA of cost and that's what my post gave him.----

He didn't ask for a local tradesman or my post to him would have been different and more specific to his needs.
