Another member recently had varying gauge readings. He discovered that a section of the track on the tank sender was worn. It's a very interesting thread; he describes in detail the tests he carried out. You might like to have a look.

Hello gentlemen, today I was cleaning the 75 and I let it run in slow motion, and after 15 minutes it stalled. I tried to restart and it did not start. However,I had 16 liter left in the tank (ipk test). I added 10 liters and it started. I then went to refuel ( 38 liters more or 48 liters plus 16 liters remaining). However, the ipk tells me only 57 litres in the tank (test ipk 6). What do you think? It’s scary because it stalled on the highway last week with 11 litres of fuel. Yet I hear my pump running. Thanks for your help, I’m lost.

It's very strange Brahim I agree.

You had 16 litres in the tank and you added 10 which gives 26 litres.
At the petrol station you added a further 38 litres so you should then have had 64 litres. The car says 8 litres less. That equates to more than a 45 miles journey!

I think that you should very carefully lift the pump/sender assembly and inspect the track as illustrated in the link I gave you.

I agree with Simon above. The sender in your tank is worn away and needs replacing.--

Unhappy

Good morning, gentlemen.
I think my engine has a big problem.
Yesterday, I had to go see my mecanic.
When I left my home the car was out of power and smoked white , I stopped and I went back accelerating it went better. The idle was unstable. I broke down in front of his house.

When we tried to start, we had to press the accelerator so that it could launch after several attempts, but it stalled every time. It was successfully started.

There was a fault code P0301 on cylinder 1. The ignition coil and spark plug were replaced without success. There was a lot of fuel in the air box.

When I accelerate into position n, the idle goes up and then down without stabilizing and the car stalls.

My mechanic thinks about injectors but is not sure. What do you think?

Because this morning I started it and did a test, it was grazing , unstable idle . I made a diagnosis and the code P0300 appeared. I don’t know what to do anymore.
Thank you for your advice.

This is going from bad to worse Brahim. Let's look at what you've just reported.

White "smoke" is either condensation in the exhaust if it's a very cold day or coolant is entering a cylinder (head gasket failure) or brake or automatic transmission fluid is being sucked into the intake and burnt.

The two fault codes you've given are for misfiring which is somewhat stating the obvious!

The air box? Do you mean the air cleaner containing the air filter? If so, this needs investigating.

Yes, the fuel is leaking from the throttle body. I disassembled the air box and opened the throttle body ,the fuel was flowing.
I think the intake manifold was full.

Hi Brahim,

You're definitely talking about petrol and not engine oil forming a pool in the air cleaner corrugated hose?
