Default Portland Meet

I was chatting to a few of the folk at Dereks (Windrush) funeral last week and the subject of the past Portland meets came up, they were usually well attended but came to an end after the Olympics when "The Boat that Rocks" closed for some time so the venue was lost.
Anyway time moves on and I've decided to try to ressurect the Isle of Portland get togethers with some new venues in the hope that it will again become an annual fixture.
Here's a little taster for those who have never visited before.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyL3MMpO0Ls

Date of the meet is 10th June
We can meet for breakfast around 09.30 at the Aqua Cafe'-Bar- Hotel who have offered members a 10% discount on accommodation so if anyone wants to overnight please contact the hotel on https://portal.freetobook.com/reserv...l56uf9VztZAHdQ and use the code Rover 75
We then have the chance to visit the D-Day centre http://www.castletownddaycentre.com/ which is opposite the Aqua hotel, Portland Castle is also close by http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/v...rtland-castle/

I have arranged for us to have afternoon tea at the Jailhouse Cafe' http://jailhousecafe.co.uk/
around 2.30 pm which will give us time to take in the breathtaking views before heading for a photo call at Portland Bill.

Because we are starting the meet with a cooked breakfast then having an early tea I haven't bothered with lunch but there are many places around the area if anyone want's a sandwich etc.

As always I'm happy to arrange a group meal on the Saturday evening if anyone plans to overnight. But will look for a venue other than the Lodmoor Brewers Fayre this time .
Just let me know if you want to come along.

Happy to announce that thanks to Trikey there will be a T4 with us for the weekend
Cheers Ian

I've added you to the list James
I suspect like me you enjoyed the D-Day Experience when we visited it in November, being able to touch and climb on the tanks, guns etc was kinda fun ..

Cheers Ian
