Thermostat
Hi to all
how easy is it to change the thermostat on the rover 75 cdti and what is the correct procedure as i have seen on youtube you place a jack under the engine then remove the engine mounts jack up the engine to reveale the thermostat housing then remove the 5 bolts and you can then remove the thermostat has anyone tried this as i need to change the antifreeze before winter david |

Why not leave it in place if it’s failed, as they fail “open” and fit a Renault 5 89’ stat in the top hose, that’s the most common solution a easy 15 min job, I always test the stats in hot water first with a cooking probe to make sure they open at the correct temp before fitting tho, a tiny amount a Vaseline helps them slip straight in, make sure the fit the stat the correct way round.
