Are they both correct, pin 4 is opposite pin 8 (with the Black Earth cable) and in the picture it looks like the Light Green/White cable (which should be ignition live) is in pin 4.

I fully understand that's what you're saying. I can assure you the green is pin 7 and that I have tested it - carefully - with a meter. Also the fact that the radio behaved in line with the correct wiring before I removed it.

Thank you, that is a better picture and I can see that they are the right way round.
The cables in the green connector in the second picture are for the steering wheel controls.

Hi D,

As the wipers are involved I'd be checking the K-bus connection (white/red/yellow, sometimes in rather indistinct dots).
