Air Con
Had me air con regassed last year.
Tried it today and was disappointed to find the car did'nt cool down. How often do we need to regas out air con system? I assume me pressing the AUTO button turns the air con on and pressing the ECON button turns the air con off.

Did the fan operate when you put the aircon on?

If you have a leak in the system it can need re gassing every fortnight. Best have a mobile guy check it and re gas if all is well.

Yes, l had new compressor & condensor fitted last year & when l had the system regassed it wasn't exactly ice cold & performance has deteriorated so the system is probably leaking. l will get a mobile Johnny to check it out soon.

Anything up to 10% leakage is considered as an acceptable leak so a system should last 4 or 5 years between refills even at this rate. If the system is loosing its charge in 12 months you need to find the leak and it should be fairly easy. Look for oil stains or traces of the dye on the AC pipes and components.
The problem is a lot of places leave a machine to do the job with little or no monitoring as to what is happening and I have even heard of some places just pressing the ''OK'' button when it flashes up there is a leak outside limits. Mobile engineers usually do a better job and in most cases will let you watch what they are doing. |

How much will it cost to have a system check by a mobile man?
