However, if someone requested it specifically I'd be happy to do it for an additional £10

BTW Paul, I'll be at Cosford next month, so you'll be able to have a loan of the Scangauge to see if it works on VeeKay
 Firstly, I was being facetious Steve.

Also, yes please - would love to see what happens with the Scangauge

Nice one- good luck with the sale- may be worth adding a note that the climate control units are different for the V8

That's what was originally thought - however, it turns out that they are in fact identical. I converted a unit from a non-V8 and it's currently running perfectly well in Ragman's V8 I've also converted the one which was originally in his V8 and that is now running perfectly in a non-V8, so that's pretty conclusive!

It looks as if there's some demand for a unit with a white display - so I've ordered some LEDs and I'll try and do a conversion in the next week or so as a test. I expect they will be waaay too bright though... but we'll see!

Well, if it works I'll be able to sell it, so no problem. If not, then I'm, sure I'll find another use for the white LEDs.... (anyone fancy some Audi style running lights? )

Cloudy plastic storage boxes work wonders as a diffuser, but LED's are constantly getting brighter and therefore 'spottier' even with the essential 120 degree viewing angle, keeping them with lower mcd ratings will give a better result I expect.

I concur with the V8-Non V8 Climate panels too
Also there are different internal components in some displays, My original V8 unit was different inside to 'Spunagains' original transformation, but they seem to work just the same.

Found some white LEDs with 140mcd, so hopefully they will be fine. For the diffuser, I obtained some A4 sheets of 1mm frosted acrylic which do the job brilliantly - I've been using small two pieces of that cut to size to get the diffusing to the right level.
