I agree with Stag's sentiments - I don't think a mount could cause that.
Having done the belts on a KV6 myself (which involves removing everything there), there's a lot of components to put back, and it's possible something hasn't been put back right, or at all.

Well after spending most of my Sunday painfully dismantling the MG, I managed to find the cause of my problems :/

I only had one out of four bolts in the lower engine bracket...I don't even want to think about what might of happened if that had gone on the track.

The lack of bolts had caused the bracket to rotate and led to the pulley grinding the bracket itself;





I have been very pleased with my first order from Rimmer Bros though. I ordered my new bolts Sunday afternoon and they turned up today, so after work today I reassembled everything and it now looks so much better;









I know it's an unusual fault but I hope this helps others who find themselves in the same situation, thanks to all who helped point me in the right direction

Well at least it wasn't glued on! Amazing what some people do. You might want to inspect the other work that was done.
