Question Grease valve & springs?

Should there be any grease on the cone-shaped end of this valve?

It's the Fast Idle Valve (or Idle Air Control Valve, aka IACV in RAVE) from the throttle body. When I took it off its housing I found some black stuff on the cone and the cone seat - it could have been oil sludge or it could have been grease, I can't tell which. The above pic is after I cleaned it btw.

I took the throttle body off to a) clean it (see mess below!) and b) get it out of the way while I lowered the gearbox using the crossbeam and threaded rod method.

Also, should those springs be greased?
