Default Climate Control Unit - Blue Backlit

I've put a converted climate control unit on eBay to see how much it sells for. Could be interesting!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=180341021869

I expect it to sell for more than I would sell it for on here - but we'll see. Feel free to bid, but if you win you will have to pay the bid price - you might be better off waiting until I convert a few more to sell on here at a lower price!

That looks real nice! Is there any way to change the white dials to blue?

The way I did it was to buy an instrument pack for a Mk2 facelift model MG - they are blue backlit as standard. Same goes for the Mk2 clock. I think Les at SMC has both for sale still. Not cheap to do though - about £150 for the parts and then you need to visit a dealer to have the unit programmed to your car using T4.

Steve, you really need to change the "ON" leds for blue ones in the switches as well

I did think about that... but then it would be harder to see at a glance if something was on or off. So I took the decision just to change the backlighting LEDs. Also, the on/off LEDs are a different type from the ones I replace, so they require a bit more work.

However, if someone requested it specifically I'd be happy to do it for an additional £10

BTW Paul, I'll be at Cosford next month, so you'll be able to have a loan of the Scangauge to see if it works on VeeKay

I've added a rather optimistic "buy it now" price of £120 to the auction. You never know, worth a shot!

Stu - if you're at Brooklands take a look at mine - it's got one of Steve's units in.

Did you ever find out about the white LED's? as I wouldn't mind one if it was in white...
