Default Track Rods.

Does anybody know if the track rods are removable from the 75 steering rack please?
Usually its a a matter of taking off the gaitor and loosening a locking nut and then unscrewing the rod..but something tells me it won't be that simple on this car

You do not need to remove the gaiter you need to slacken the lock nut nearest to the track rod end remove the ball joint and unscrew the said ball joint counting the number of turns needed to remove it so you can return the replacement to the same place, this will give you a fairly acurate tracking but you should get the wheels retracked ASAP

unless he means are the steering arms replaceable separately as you can get the arms alown cheaper than a rack for many cars to remove the play while watching the costs.

as for weather this is possible i do not know

The track rods that are attached to the rack ball joints don't come as a separate MGR part. It's necessary to replace the whole lot. However, I believe there are companies around who refurbish steering systems and are able to supply items like the rods. I'm pretty sure one of the members here (or there) works for such a company, but more I can't remember. A careful keyword search may find what you want.
