anyone work for a car insurance company here?
got a question.
if i get my rover 820 back on the road after it was a cat C write off, so all the work that is needed is done and its mot'd and i get the vic check done. does it work out more to insure as it was a cat C. thanks bigmark |

I do and the answer to your question is possibly. All insurance companies use calculations of risk to decide what insurance costs but that is only one aspect.
As the car has been written off once it will be worth in the eyes of an insurance company MUCH less than the book trade value. So when you specify the car value don't get to optimistic. And if you have a future claim in all likelihood it will be immediately written off again. In this case the car may not be worth much at all. However you may not notice an increase at all. I would check out a third party option as well as fully comp as the fully comp may increase which is stupid as your potential liability will be less but thats the way it goes..

i just went on to go compare .com for a quote on my vitesse that is a cat C write of and it come back with a quote for £194 would they know it is a write off by the reg of the car?
