It really is quite simple if you're not afraid to dive into the BCU witing and start taking connectors apart ...

Bin there .... wonder if its the reason my Central locking switch is now not working ? .

another problem to sort!.

Make sure the middle BCU connector is fully home. Sometimes it can appear to be when in fact it's not quite.

As all the cables and switch check out OK . I've a suspicion I may have stretched open the pin socket in the connector whilst probing about with a paperclip probe.
( just been reading a RAVE disc I've been given , (after the event ) !! and its says specifically not to do this DOH!!!

and it just might not be making a connection.

but I can't figure out how to get the C660 plug apart, to probe in the back like the disc says to do .

In fact I can't even figure out how C662 comes out !! not wanting to pull it about too much.

any clues..

Chris

Use a fine screwdriver to ease the black casing apart by one of the blue lugs in the area where the wires exit the connector. You only need to ease one side even though there is a blue lug on the other side as the connector shell is quite soft.

The whole blue inner will then pull out easily. Bear in mind that the blue connector is actually 3 connectors clipped together lengthways so make sure the whole assembly slides out at once. The individual connectors can be a real pain to put back together once slid apart.

Let me know if you want any more help.

I KNOW a picture would help but I haven't taken any and I'm not keen on stripping my BCU connector down

Maybe next time I do the mod for somebody else?

Really though, it's quite simple if you study the connector and take your time.

Not sure why you'd need to probe though??? All the connector contacts are clearly identified in the RAVE BCU connector list.

Your CCU went in the post this morning BTW

I was probing .. ooer!! cos my wiring colours seem to vary from the older Rave info.. mt Zt is right around project Drive starting.

And those noobs, ( 1 O too many?) who designed that closer module sent me off on many a wild goose chase trying to get me to go away .
must have phoned they 20 times.. over 3 weeks.

I've got 7 different rave & other CD's , all different dates , all donated by the local eX MG dealer, some look like torvil & dean have been on them and few seem to work.

The little blue lug you can see in the picture is part of the inner connector assembly.

Push a fine screwdriver in from the top (as per your picture) and the black plastic shell will ease away from the lug allowing the blue inner to pull out.

I can't recall having any difficulty pulling out the other two connectors
