Does anyone know if i can take the seat covers off a passenger seat to replace worn driver seat covers?

What about left hand drive cars, would it be worth removing the seat cover and checking out the stiching or did MG Rover have the seat covers stiched differently for left hand drive vehicles,

Good point but what if I just swapped the seat base which is suffering the most?

both driver and passenger seats have side airbags.

It's not just the stitching, there is some form of extra layer of fabric type material sewn in which is probably designed to control the deployment of the air bags.

Seats bases are not a problem, but i think you'll find the cut outs can't easily be disguised where the the side plates fit.
