How to fit an OEM tow bar to a tourer/ ZTT?
Been looking through the archives, but can't seem to find anything on this? I've bought a tow bar second hand off ebay (without instructions, obviously), and it is the tourer version.
I presume that this won't be too difficult to fit - anyone here done it, and how? Also I didn't see anything on how to remove the rear bumper? Cheers chaps |

That's going to be invaluable I think. The tow bar is the original - and I recall reading that this should simply connect up to a connector inside the nearside wing panel? Not sure whether this is just the work of my fervent imagination or not??? Hope not, as it will certainly make my life a lot easier if the electrics are just plug and play...

Vhecking the wiring on my car, I found that:
LH indicator light: green/pink LH reverse light: green/brown LH fog light: blue/yellow LH tail light: red/brown LH stop light: green/blue RH indicator: green/slate RH reverse light: green/brown RH fog light: blue/white RH tail light: red/blue RH stop light: green/blue This is a little different from what had previously described, and more annoyingly, the RH wires are not to be found behind the LH boot trim - is this the same on other tourers? By the looks of things, I'll need to run extensions to behind the RH lamp unit to get the relay feed for the RH indicator and tail lamp |

Yes, you need to run a couple of wires to the other side.

Slightly annoying - I'll have to disassemble yet more car!
Just wondering - main power to the relays - run directly from battery, or from a link wire to fuse box? |

More reading - orange/slate wire in fuse box compartment. So I need a wire directly from there. Do people just cut off the existing connector and replace with a suitable bullet connector? And what cable do you use? I was thinking of using 27A cable purchased from Halfrauds... but it is too short at 2.5 metres - so may buy some beefier cable from fleabay.
As I have the other slit charge connector on my tow-bar, might as well connect this - again, do people use the same power feed as that used by the lighting relay? I'm not entirely sure how to safely split a large 27-30A cable - any suggestions? Thanks all |
