Default eBay Tourer - easy fix?

Hi folks,

Nothing to do with me, but I spotted this on eBay.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334542315550

It looks to have been well cared for having had a respray a few years ago and various other works recently.

It's currently going for scrap money, but hopefully someone here will rescue it. I'm assuming it would be a relatively easy fix for someone who knows what they're doing.

An MoT check shows rusty underside gets a few mentions.

Also tyres appear to have been a low priority, in the past.

Having said that, diesel auto, sunroof and a good clean interior.

The owner probably isn't a member of this forum, to his cost, I would think.

Regards

Mike

Hard to tell from photos, but that does look like a nice car. I dare say it's something simple....engine sensor, fuel pump, dodgy fuel gauge (great if it's simply run out of diesel... )

I saw this car and wondered if there'd be a thread about it!

My initial thought was: "I wonder if it has less than 1/4 tank of fuel" - meaning the in tank pump.

When mine did this though, it was just a bad connection at the under bonnet pump - I fitted a new pump, but all it really needed was a cleaned connector.

My other thought was that it was a shame that the AA man couldn't get it working - there's not a lot that could be stopping it.

If it had 100k fewer miles on it then I'd be bidding for sure and not really caring about what it needs to fix it.

Hope someone sees the potential and buys it to use it.

If it was closer, I'd be sorely tempted....
Turn up with a couple of gallons of diesel and a few sensors and another battery/booster. If it isn't the itp or UDP probably be down to a cam or crank sensor

It does look like a decent car despite a few little fixes, the mileage is nothing on these engines as we know but, it's just a little too far for me to look at, a one owner example so it shouldn't be too bad at all.

If it were closer to me I would've probably had a punt anyway. 145k on a CDTi is nothing.

It's got good fuel pressure, 400Kpa

I saw this and contacted to suggest his fuel pump which was the issue with mine and wifey's cars, but he said it wasn't. Well, I tried.
