Stolen CAT from my car
Well after a busy few weeks I moved to Rickmansworth, a lovely present from the local crime gang who seemed to have jacked my car up on Monday night and cut away my CAT.
Made a right mess of the middle section of the exhaust when they cut it off! £500 later and I’m now back on the road. People would pay good money to have a ZT that sounded like that but even after my 3 mile drive to the garage I had ear ache 🤣 Fingers crossed they get caught next time and the owner catches them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Its on the rise for the rare earth metals in the Cat - am told its only the original MGR Cats and not newer replacements that the thieves are after. Apparently there is a special tool that enables them to do it quickly.

omg I feel for you. It is not only the thieves but the people that buy from them.
Any scrap dealers in the area? Mind you the thieves could be from out of area. Did you pay or go via insurance? macafee2 |

I really feel for you.
My wife works at a supermarket, and about two years ago they had a spate of cat thefts there. Mainly the shop workers cars as they are parked up most of the day so the little thieving scum bags have plenty of time to do what they need to do. The staff have to park at the far end of the car park and leave the closer parking spaces for customers, and before you ask, no cameras on the car park! Luckily my wifes car wasn't targeted, but quite a few staff had an expensive repair bill. Not only the cat taken but the wiring to the sensors and sensors cut through and gone!

Looking at the access under the ZT, you wouldn't get anything bulky in there to remove it. |

It's becoming a real problem, especially to TF owners. Lots of them being targeted at the moment too

I called the insurance and TBH the guy said my excess was £250 and if I could get it done for £500 it would be worth doing it without going through them as my insurance premium would go up next year because of a claim. Plus also having to transferred to one of their repairers which would be a few days to arrange. He also said they would look at the worth of the car and it was possible they would right it off! I used Mr Clutch in Slough and he was very good actually, showed me where they had cut the pipe and said the theft of these was rife over the past few weeks. Police obviously didn’t want to know but I’ve told them I’ll be protecting my own property and will use force where needed! An extendable wheel brace from Halford now adapted with a metal ball welded on the end... if I do catch the little f@£ers they won’t be driving off but more crawling in pain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
