I think I'd also like to see another design drawing of the proposed badge to confirm it will actually fit the regular octagonal plinth of the MG7 grill. The drawing posted recently wouldn't fit IMO.

There's no such thing as 'hectagonal' and the MG badge is in fact a regular (equal sided) octagon (8 sides). Sorry to be pedantic, but the proposed badge design drawings weren't of a regular octagon. It was irregular (different length sides) and alternate sides were curved. That wouldn't fit properly (IMO) within the MG7 plinth. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 12th February 2011 at 10:11.. |

I do stand corrected TC, shows how much attention I pay to MG's
The octagonal badge is just as hard to get wrong as a pair of compasses is not needed, it is quicker however, and the same basic principle Rob, you really need the manufacturer to make a bare plate so a pic can be taken of it in the recess for size accuracy

Good stuff, Rob. I can see a lot of interest in this once its confirmed the Chinese premium grills will fit.

Hi Eamonn -I believe that Steve is trying to fit the MG7 grille today if he gets the time but if not today will not be long

The worry I have is that this badge (which isn't regular)
wont fit nicely in the regular octagonal plinth on the MG7 grill. The badge design also has alternate curved edges. IMO, if it does go in, it will look untidy around the edge. TC |

Hi TC. When I get time in the next day or two I will measure for regularity on both the opposite and adjacent vertices at both their points and rounded vertices. If i have a hour or two free I will cut out a template from some 2mm alloy plate I have
