Default Water in the boot

Yes, I know about the rear light seals but this water is apparently coming through the rear window as the whole length of the steel section in the boot directly below the widow has water dripping from it the whole length. Presumably a seal problem but what should I remove and by what techniqe to get some sealant in. Or is it a widow out job?
Both my saloons are affected, the 50k mileage one I really do want to take care of.
