Yes always difficult if you are relying on the car, have no back up and have to pay someone to do the work. There comes a point when moving it on and buying something more reliable is appealing.

Guys, don't we have anyone near Richard who can help? I know he hasn't asked, as such, but his mechanic isn't making much progress...

[QUOTE=slovcan;2904152isn't making much progress...[/QUOTE]

Maybe I should go back to a motorcycle as I could still vaguely remember how to use one; would need a side car for the better half now of course….
Appreciate the plea on my behalf slovcan.

Every breakdown is few days of headache and it’s getting worse as the car gets older. If I lived with a mechanic and had access to another car, all would be well.
Luckily I'm retired so very flexible as to when I need to go out. Just as well, I live in a rural area with a regular bus service, one out of the village every Thursday morning and returning 2 hours later.

Exactly as Trikey says. Especially if it fires up on Easy Start and then keeps on running.
