Default Tourer tailgate chrome handle removal

I have a new central metal badge to fit on the handle and looked at removing it today. It has four ?torx screw with raised centres which are extremely rusty. Is it in fact necessary to remove the strip to change the badge (which I assume is bolted from the back) and if so, best method please? (library pic)

Dougie.

it's not bolted it's stuck on a hairdryer on it softens the adhesive and a small screwdriver to get underneath the badge to help peel it off

Oh! I was sure I'd seen an exploded diagram showing the badge with two threaded studs! But I'll gladly take your word for it and get the heat gun out in the morning. Thank you.

I've done two of my tourers the hard part is getting a replacement they're out there it's just a case of sourcing one I didn't use a het gun just a hairdryer just be careful with the screwdriver you don't want to mark the chrome handle
