Tourer rear wiper question.
So my son had a lift in the tourer and commented he could hear a motor running in the back of the car. Once mentioned, I heard it myself (older ears). Realised the switch was on, motor running, but no wiper arm movement. I had a look and found that the wiper arm was easy and free to move and the motor was rotating. There seemed to be no position I could get the lug to engage in the slot on the wiper motor disc.
Is there a small link I may be missing that fits over the lug on the wiper arm to engage with the slot on the disc, or have I just got a worn lug/disc slot issue? Many thanks in advance for all advice. PS. I was going to upload pictures from my computer but ran into the usual problem on the forum of 'upload failed'. I'm going to start another thread since I know many members would like to post photos but struggle with this issue. |

Take it off again and you should find a small pin which is probably stuck closed, lubricate and use pliers to gradually ease it out.
Good luck ps. Problem with photos is usually the size, keep below 1mB and all should be ok. |

Just popped out and looked at my tourers, both are identical.
Pictures are of the 190, the peg you see on the wiper spindle arm is sprung loaded. Sorry pictures are sideways, phone won’t allow me to correct them! Hope that helps, Paul. |

Based on your photos, I do have a stuck pin. I'll attack it in the daylight and post my result.

Went out and sprayed the pin with DeBlock oil and had breakfast.
Came out with pliers after and a little bit of wiggling and Bingo. Joy. A simple job for once. Thanks again Paul ( and Mike ). Very happy with that result |
